Object description :

""les Huppes" Illustrated By Xavier Du Poret - Published In 1958 By The "h" House In Paris"
"Les Huppes" illustrated by Xavier du Poret, published in 1958 by Maison Hermès in Paris. This very beautiful square, very rare, and very sought-after, published in 1958 and never reissued. Comes on a bright yellow background, monochrome gray/black crests and braided with blue on the crest. This edition listed in the dictionary of Hermès art squares, appears in place 1A, which means "very rare, and very sought-after". In silk twill with turquoise and burgundy borders on a plain yellow background, with hand-rolled edges, features the "hoopoe fasciée" diurnal migratory bird, sumptuous with its exotic appearance which carries on the top of its head an erectile crest that it can open like a fan. In nature its feathers are a beautiful pinkish beige, with a white and black tip, the plumage of its body is orange-pink, the tail and the large rounded wings are streaked with black and white. Here, sublimated in gray/black and bluish lines on the crest, Xavier du Poret born on April 12, 1894 and died on July 18, 1975, French animal artist, portraitist and illustrator, expressed all his talent. Favorite illustrator of Maurice Hermès, he created several models for him. The name of the company appears at the bottom right, the name of the illustrator at the bottom left. Published in 1958, it does not bear a copyright, this being affixed only from the years 1967. This magnificent square, 66 years old, in a Hermès box is in remarkable state of conservation and use, both in terms of silk and colors. No hole, no stain, no pulled thread for this beautiful square. Very good original and used condition, and conservation, see details on the photos. Dimensions: 88 x 83 cm Free shipping for France.
