"An Italian Close Helmet XVI Century "
This helmet is possibly of Italian origin and is of a later design. The visors and chin guard are connected to the same joint and separated from the skull piece, which was a design originating in England and later became the standard for all subsequent armbands (this replaced the washer armrest). The skull part and the chin part are separated to allow the wearer to easily put on the helmet and are secured with a buckle at the bottom right. The visor is made up of two independent pieces: the bottom piece could be attached with a hook that provided additional protection to the chin guard, while the top part provided eyelets and a single prong to move the piece up and down.
