Very beautiful neoclassical style lamp representing a young faun. A faun is a mythological creature that was venerated by the Romans. She is a very sensual nymph, this divinity is not a goddess, but she is attributed powers. Her male equivalent is the faun. Body of a woman and legs and feet of a goat. This gilded bronze lamp is mounted on a speckled marble base. The faun holds the light in her hand. Signature on the base L KLEY for Louis KLEY (1833-1911), 19th century sculptor and founder's mark Eugène Soleau. Modern lampshade in toile de Jouy. Very good condition overall.
