Oil on canvas
Period: 1700
Dimensions: 118x142 cm with frame, 87x130 cm without frame
Description: Splendid floral still life of significant dimensions, dating back to the second half of the 17th century. Likely painted by Giuseppe Pesci (1679-1759). The work depicts a bouquet of flowers, including tulips, carnations, roses, bellflowers, and other botanical varieties. The warm, vibrant colors of the flowers elegantly contrast with the dark background. The intricately carved gilded frame evokes a classical and regal style, adding further prestige to the painting. In the lower right corner, fruits (including lemons) and carefully arranged leaves can be seen, symbolizing the fragility of life and themes of vanitas.
The artist demonstrates extraordinary mastery of chiaroscuro techniques and a clear sensitivity to naturalistic representation, typical of Flemish or Italian Baroque painting.
A unique piece, ideal for collectors and lovers of ancient art.
