From the base to the top there are multiple friezes comprising calligraphy, trellises, a frieze of chitals, a series of rondos or rosettes animated by horsemen, followed by a series of cruciform medallions animated by characters, finished by other calligraphed and animated friezes. The finish of the object is of quality, the deep and incisive engravings demonstrate the dexterity of the maker.
The golden and old patina sublimates the object.
These marvelous coppers and brasses, tinned or not, were under the Ottoman, Safavid or Kadjar, Mughal dynasties an eminent alternative to silver and they enjoyed the same status.
