"Oil On Canvas ‘country House’ By Carlo Dalla Zorza - 1945, Italy"
An oil on canvas, applied on cardboard, by Carlo Dalla Zorza in 1945, measuring 40x50 cm. The artist is known for his ability to capture the natural light and colours of the Veneto landscape. His works often reflect a sense of stillness and contemplation, as can be seen in this painting. The work stands out for its delicate colours, soft stroke and attention to atmosphere. It is signed ‘CDZ’ in the bottom centre of the painting. Carlo Dalla Zorza exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1924, 1926 and 1928 as a graphic artist and in 1934, 1940 as a painter. In 1945 an entire room was dedicated to him and he is mentioned in the catalogue ‘XXVII BIENNALE’ on page 174. The state of conservation is good. It needs a superficial cleaning and arrangement of the corners. There are numerous labels on the back of the work. The frame, which is not contemporary, is of the Marconi type in carved wood, lacquered and gilded with gold highlights, measuring 66x56x6 cm.
