Russian hussar officer's sabre model 1798 dated 1802. Handle covered with filigree sheepskin. Copper-plated brass mount. Long-tailed cap, topped with a lion's head. Single-branched guard, with ear-pieces and rolled quillon. Stamped on one of the ear-pieces "PPW" crowned. Curved blade, with flat back marked in Cyrillic (Tiflis) and dated 1802, on one side of the double-headed eagle and on the other side "AI" (Alexander 1st Tsar) and shield-shaped punches. Scabbard covered with blackened leather with three copper-plated brass fittings, decorated with line. Iron dart. With a two-tone dragonne, in gold and red. (light remains of gilding, beautiful uniform patina) Alexander I (1777 – 1825) Tsar from 1801 to 1825.
