In 1716, he painted an altarpiece for the Saint-Martin priory in Esnandes1, representing a Transfiguration, modeled on that of Raphael2,3. Around 1718, he painted the Portrait of Marie-Jeanne Grellier with her Negrillonne4. This 6-year-old girl is passing through La Rochelle with her family, whose plantation is located in Jérémie, on the island of Saint-Domingue, then a French colony5. This oil on canvas is kept at the Musée du Nouveau Monde in La Rochelle. Another similar painting is exhibited next to it, it is the Portrait of Marie-Anne Grellier with her black nurse6, Marie-Jeanne's sister. Painted at the same time, it is not signed, but is conventionally associated with the hand of Chanteloub5. De Chanteloub painted the Portrait of Mgr Jean de Brancas, Bishop of La Rochelle, in 17267. The painting is kept at the Saint-Louis Cathedral in the same city.
