"Daffodils In A Vase By Charles Jung Lyon"
The bouquet of daffodils stands out against a garnet background, the stems of the bright yellow flowers can be seen in the transparency of the glass vase with its narrow neck. This bouquet, this almost sunny painting, already projects us towards spring. Presented in a large original gilded frame in molded wood with a deep ogee (some missing parts) 66 X 58 cm Canvas 41 X 33 cm (6 F indicated on the back) in good condition, old small piece at the bottom right. Signed at the bottom right. End of the 19th or first part of the 20th century.
Charles Jung (Lyon 1865 - Lyon 1936)
Frédéric Charles Jung took classes at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon from 1882 to 1885. He then exhibited in Lyon in 1886 and in Paris in 1905. He received a gold medal in Lyon in 1908. Jung specialized in decorative still life painting such as this still life for the Rhône prefecture and a spring flower decoration for the town hall of the 6th arrondissement of Lyon. The Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon holds: "wild blackthorns"
