The mustard pot rests on three lion's paw feet extending into a plant surrounded by two swans facing each other.
The scrolled handle is decorated with laurel leaves.
The hinged lid is decorated with a frieze of water leaves and a seed socket.
The decoration is superb, the plumage of the swans is very detailed, the treatment of the leaves and florets in scrolls is typical of the reign of Louis XVIII.
The interior is original white glass.
A later mustard spoon by the goldsmith Emile Puiforcat and hallmarked with the Minerva is attached.
The mustard pot is hallmarked:
. Second rooster hallmark for 1st grade silver 950/°° between 1809 and 1819
. Test hallmark called "revolutionary": Greek woman's head with the letter P
. Minerva's head hallmark for guaranteeing the means of work in Paris between 1809 and 1819
. Goldsmith's hallmark: AM for Ambroise Mignerot, apparently active from 1810 to 1818.
