Charming snuffbox from the end of the 18th century in pomponne.

The box is oval, in pomponne which is a gilded copper alloy imitating gold at a lower cost.
It has a decoration typical of the reign of Louis XVI with on all sides panels of fine parallel channels, framed by garlands of ribbons and foliage.
A trophy underlined by a garland of laurel leaves is in the center of the lid.

The interior of the box is plated with tortoiseshell.

Very beautiful box dating from the end of the 18th century, typical of the production of pomponne objects authorized by Louis XVI from 1785.
