"Pair Of 18th Century Louis XV Painted Straw Armchairs"
Pair of Louis XV armchairs, in painted wood. The arched front legs, the violin backs and the sinuous armrest supports bear witness to the refinement characteristic of the 18th century. The seat is originally straw-lined, preserving its authenticity and charm. The armchairs are accompanied by cushions in bourette silk and linen, from an old Nîmes weaving dating from the beginning of the 20th century. These seats combine grace of shapes and sobriety of materials, typical of the Louis XV style in its most rustic and elegant version. The patina of the painted wood, subtle and natural, reveals careful work and the wear of time which gives them a beautiful patina of use.
