Large antique bust of Hermes after Praxiteles. Large and very decorative bust of an ephebe in plaster with a stone patina resting on an oak base. Dating from the 20th century, this neoclassical sculpture is a resumption of a fragment of the sculpture "Hermes of Olympia" attributed to the Greek sculptor, Praxiteles (4th century BC). This large sculpture representing Hermes carrying the child Dionysus was discovered in 1877 in Olympia in the ruins of the temple of Hera.
