Very good general condition - scratches and traces of use A small shock at the top on the rim ----- The von Schwarz firm, founded in the 1820s, was initially active in stained glass and glass painting, then in the exploitation of steatite. With the arrival of Carl Sigmund Luber in 1897 as artistic director, the firm developed a new material based on steatite dust and kaolin, particularly hard and non-deformable. This new type of ceramic can receive very bright colors, deposited in the reserves created using a network of ceramic wires, in the manner of cloisonné. This flourishing industry would last a little less than ten years, until the departure of Carl Sigmund Luber in 1906. [Source: jugendstilforum]
