Clock Portico In Carrara Marble And Gilded Bronze Napoléon III

Elegant portico clock from the Napoleon III period around 1860. Signed on the dial E. Aubry in Laval, clockmaker listed in the Tardy, dictionary of French clockmakers.

Architecture with two columns in white Carrara marble. They support an entablature composed of gilded bronze decorations decorated with pine cones and a vase topped with a lyre and handles decorated with ivy.

Domed dial in white enamel finely worked with colored garland, accompanied by gilded hands. The whole is protected by a bezel set with domed glass.

The space between the columns is occupied by a garland as drapery and a sun pendulum.

Original mechanism without modification. Chime from the hour and a half on an old bell.
