"Jean Grandvigne : Louis XV Style Sterling Silver Vegetable Dish / Tureen"
Sublime 18th century style Vegetable Tureen with shell-shaped ecuelle style lateral handles. Lid embellished with shells framed by a textured ground, and a blank cartouche featured on each side. Terrace with large gadroons bordered by a frieze in laurel appliqué and crossed ribbons, all topped with a handle with Louis XV in profile bordered by oves and interlacing. Minerva 1st Title Hallmarks (.950), Title Hallmark called "crab" and Hallmarks of Master Goldsmith Jean GRANDVIGNE (Hallmark with the initials "JG" and a vine stock) received in 1868 who was the main collaborator of Gustave ODIOT. This sublime Vegetable Tureen of high quality is in good general condition, also revised and cleaned by our Goldsmith, small marks and micro-scratches from use.
