"Bronze Sculpture Woman Musician Mandolin Art Nouveau Van Der Straeten."
Art Nouveau bronze sculpture representing a young woman with a mandolin by Georges Van der Straeten. Very pretty piece with a beautiful untouched period bronze patina and a remarkable quality of finish as is often the case for this great artist. Note the exceptional work of production encasing the bronze on its griotte marble support also made with the greatest care. Signature of the artist on the back and presence of the foundry stamp: Société des Bronzes de Paris. . Interesting and rare work by this great artist 1856 1928 Belgium, student of Jef Lambeaux, present at the Paris Salon from 1885 and silver medalist at the Universal Exhibition of 1900. Artist influenced by the spirit of the 18th century and the work of Watteau here quite suggested. Very beautiful size, height 53 cm allowing this work to give all its decorative and original character thanks also to the two materials used very unusual.
