MUSKETEERS SABRE OF THE KING'S MILITARY HOUSE, 2ND COMPANY, Black Musketeers, 1814 model, Restoration. 30050 Silver-plated guard with three branches forming a shell in the shape of a medallion, decorated with the musketeers' fleur-de-lys cross on a radiant background. Plate ending with a quillon in the shape of a palmette decorated with a fleur-de-lys, bearing the marking "VERSAILLES" and punched below with a "B" surmounted by a star of the controller P. BICK (December 1813 - September 1818) and the punch "B" in a laurel wreath of JG BICK, 1st class controller from 1812 to May 1815. Below the medallion, the guard forms a palmette intended to support the medallion and the two guard branches surrounding it each end with a fleur-de-lys. Short punched tail pommel. Wooden knuckle covered with gray shagreen and copper filigree. Straight blade with double groove and point in the extension of the back. It is punched on the heel with a "B" in an oval surmounted by a star of inspector EL BORSON (August 1814 - September 1816), a "B" in a circle surrounded by a laurel wreath corresponding to the 1st class controller JG BICK (1812 - May 1815), and an "L" in a circle corresponding to the reviser FL LOBSTEIN, reviser (1813 to July 1821). Back of blade engraved "Manufre Rle du Klingenthal November 1814". Blade length 94.6 cm. Remains of red wool tie. Leather scabbard with three silver-plated brass fittings finished with a bead. The chape and the central bracelet are both hallmarked "LB" and "B" under star. Iron dart. France. Restoration. Perfect condition, blade having retained its original polish.
