This one is particularly successful and takes up the main motif of the typically Art Nouveau decoration, composed of interlacing flowers and foliage, hence the name of the model.
The main motif placed on the right of each plate is decorated with a musical instrument, a lute, a mandolin or a high drum while a second floral motif adorns the left side. The graphics are particularly fine and the old pink tone placed on the creamy white background is very soft.
The service includes:
- 23 flat plates with an average diameter of 24.1 cm and 3.1 cm in height. The decorations are varied, 11 lutes, 10 drums and 2 mandolins.
- a large soup tureen measuring 31 cm from one handle to the other, 21 cm opening and 22.5 cm high. The lid is decorated with a lute and the container with a mandolin.
- a vegetable dish measuring 27 cm from one handle to the other, 19.5 cm opening and 17.5 cm high. The decoration is the opposite of that of the soup tureen, mandolin on the lid and lute on the container.
These details are not immediately perceptible but reveal the extreme attention paid to the aesthetics of the whole.
Finally, as fans of "mismatched matching", we thought it appropriate to add to the whole a large opaque porcelain dish from Gien with a "Chardons" motif. The color match is perfect and the plant motif goes very well with the whole.
No doubt you can already imagine your table decorated with this composition.
