Empire painting early 19th century oil painting on canvas depicting the portrait of a Lady of quality by Johan Christophe Rincklake (1764-1813) The noble lady is dressed in a blue satin dress topped with lace called a strawberry collar, the bodice is enriched with an imposing gold sautoir necklace supporting a guilloche soap dish watch. Original frame in gilded wood decorated with leafy palmettes in the corners, keyed chassis. Dimensions: 74 cm X 63 cm / visible: 60 cm x 50 cm.
