Oil on canvas depicting a view of the Costa Brava, by François Baboulet, a French painter born in 1914 in Toulouse and died in 2010 in Paris.
Signed lower right, titled "The Costa Brava" on the back of the frame on a label.

François Baboulet studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the studio of André Devambez (1867-1944).
In 1941, back in Toulouse, he became a professor at the city's school of fine arts until 1945. Then he returned to Paris where he became involved in the capital's artistic community.
He received the silver medal from the City of Paris in 1964.
He was appointed official painter of the Navy in 1973.
