Francisque Joseph DURET (1804-1865) - Dancer with tambourine and castanets in patinated bronze.Comment: superb and rare pair of bronze sculptures representing two Neapolitan dancers; one with a tambourine and the other with castanets.
Both sculptures have a base imitating the beach with many shells and both have the signature "DURET F" on the edge of the base as well as "Quesnel fondeur" in the decoration of the base.
Below, we find the mark / initial of the foundry worker "VL".
State of conservation: good condition (see photographs).
