"Small Travel Kit Circa 1900 By Touron 24 Rue De La Paix"
Charming little travel kit circa 1880/1900 from Maison Touron 24 rue de la Paix in Paris. It is composed of a fawn leather box lined with black Russian leather, including despite its small size, a mirror, a tray of very complete original manicure instruments, two crystal bottles and three silver-plated metal boxes, as well as three ebony brushes of rare quality. Maison Touron, already active in the 1830s, supplier to crowned heads and renowned artists in the mid-19th century, is still characterized by an extraordinary quality of manufacture and ingenuity in its luggage arrangements. It also makes jewelry and mounted objects. It is ahead of Hermes or Vuiton, but probably disappeared with the war of 1914. This kit is complete, original, and in excellent condition, certainly having been little used.
