"Large "corpus Christi" In Gilded Bronze, Haute époque, Italy, 16th Century."
Large "Corpus Christi" in gilded bronze Haute Epoque. Very beautiful model inspired by the creations of Giambologna (Jean Bologne - Douai 1529 / Florence 1608), active in Florence in the 16th century. Very beautiful quality of casting and chiseling; presented in its original mercury gilding. Of the "Christo Morto" type, Christ is represented in an aerial posture with outstretched limbs and the whole is however devoid of any suffering and heaviness; the face is magnificent, relaxed and serene, the treatment of the two-pointed beard and locks of hair is particularly refined. Presented on a contemporary base in marble and patinated metal. Work from northern Italy, certainly Tuscany, dating from the end of the 16th century. NB / Possible shipping to France via Colissimo followed: 30 euros.
