HISTORY Affortunato Gory is an Italian sculptor active around 1900 to 1925, the year he died in Paris.
Originally from Florence, he studied sculpture there at the Academy of Fine Arts, under the direction of Auguste Rivalta.
Gory, like many Italian artists, emigrated to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century to practice his art.
He changed his name from Fortunato Gori to Affortunato Gory.
He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français where he presented his works until 1923.
Gory owes his success to his graceful female sculptures.
