It is decorated with three winged angel heads, foliage and rolled leather. Housing a montage of silver wires forming a floral decoration, it holds in its center a bagged ex-ossibus relic of Saint Severin (S. Severi Martyr) that our three austere angels guard. Several episcopal seals on the back. There are many Saint Severins, but only one, to my knowledge, suffered martyrdom. This is Saint Severin Boethius, martyr in 524 or 525. "Famous for his knowledge and his writings, he was held in prison, where he wrote his treatise "On the Consolation of Philosophy" and served God with righteousness until the death inflicted on him by King Theodoric" (source Nominis)
