Suji-bachi type

Iron, lacquer, brass, silver, fibers, cotton, lacquer.
Suji-bachi type Kabuto consisting of a forty-bladed radiating helmet (hachi), a four-step tehen and a silver flower.
Pair of short, lacquered side wings (fukigaeshi).
The front of the helmet features a three-rivet shinodare and a removable brass ornament called the maedate, featuring a crescent moon.
Wrought-iron attachment ring (agemaki no kan). Visor (mabisashi) in natural iron on the top and red lacquered on the inside.
The neck cover (shikoro) is articulated with five natural iron and lacquered slats; its size is particularly large.
Beautiful hachi movement.
The kabuto is a traditional object in Japanese culture. An integral part of military armor, it was worn by high-ranking samurai.
Overall good condition. Some missing lacquer.
Sold with its base.
