John Turrill was the greatest maker of writing cases in England, known for the exceptional quality of his cabinetmaking. This writing case is made of Coromandel wood (one of the most precious woods in the world, also called Calamander), with a beautiful marquetry of brass and mother-of-pearl. Interior with compartments in lemon wood. Complete with its removable inkwells and its key. Flap covered with its original leather gilded with small irons.
