CANDELSTICKS FREEMASONRY MODEL OF JUSTE-AURELE MEISSONNIER.Pair of candlesticks, silver chiseled bronze candlesticks, decorated with 3 putti in the round supporting a bobèche.
The twisted shaft, richly decorated with scrolls of foliage in the Rococo style, rests on a wide base with tripod-shaped steps.
With in its center, 3 coats of arms representing : Hunting, War, and rarer, Freemasonry attributes.
Each bobèche is monogrammed M.A. for Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1715) : goldsmith to the King in 1724, considered by his peers to be the leader of the rock style.
The whole is very richly worked with foliage, gadroons, interlacing, foliage, shells.
Period early 19th century.
