"Large 19th Century Sanctuary Lamp (height: 1.40 M)"
Important chapel chandelier called sanctuary lamp from the Charles X period with an architectural structure in the Neo-Gothic style entirely in finely chiseled gilded bronze depicting a large basin animated with openwork and trefoiled naturalist motifs supported by three link chains with spherical and polylobed grip rings ending at the top with a bail cover in the shape of a count's crown with lotus-shaped foliage, the lower part is decorated with acanthus leaves and a ringed pine cone topped with rosettes and ribbon knots. Good condition and beautiful gilding, the interior is formerly electrified by two large screw light points. Dimensions: 1 m 40 high X 60 cm wide. The new religious momentum driven by the 19th century asserted itself through the construction of numerous churches and allowed the rediscovery of the Gothic style and its rich architectural lexicon. This trend also manifested itself in painting and the decorative arts. This chandelier of beautiful quality and complex structure is a true testimony to this liturgical development.
