Object description :

"Jimma Spoon - Oromo Culture, Southwest Ethiopia - First Half Of The 20th Century"
Jimma SPOON
Oromo culture, south-west Ethiopia
First half of the 20th century
Brown horn
31 cm long, 3.8 cm long

This spoon is made from a section of brown horn, with a tapered handle partly hollowed out and engraved with three ringed rings. The junction features a pointed cut in the horn and the end of the handle has a cavity that probably allows it to be suspended.
The spoon is an extension of the handle and shows signs of use.
