A disturbing and allegorical scene of Agamemnon's unfortunate return after his epic journey and victory over the Trojan army. The scene shows Agamemnon's triumphant return, showing himself unharmed before his wife Clytemnestra who later murders him with the help of her lover Aegisthus. The work is a cautionary tale about bad returns home. Presented in its original carved and gilded foliate frame.
