Nicolas-Mathieu Rieussec Watchmaker “Rieussec/Hger du Roi” (1781 - 1866) Nicolas-Mathieu Rieussec is one of the important Parisian watchmakers of the first decades of the 19th century. His workshop was successively mentioned on rue du Marché-Pallu between 1804 and 1812, then rue Neuve des Petits-Champs from 1815. Bearing the title of "King's Watchmaker" during the reign of Louis XVIII, he distinguished himself by his innovations by perfecting or creating in particular chronographs and ink-drop second counters (see Tardy, Dictionary of French Watchmakers, Paris, 1971, p.555).
