"Still Life Painting With Autumn Fruits"
Large painting representing a still life with autumn fruits in a basket, by Alexis Kreyder (1839-1912). A painter of Alsatian origin, Kreyder draws his inspiration from his native region renowned for its vines. Several times a medalist at the Parisian Salon of 1869 and 1884 as well as at the Universal Exhibition of 1889, he specializes in still lifes and floral paintings. Several of his paintings are kept in Alsatian museums. In 1904, Alexis Kreyder participated in the illustration of a general treatise on viticulture, published by Masson. This work contains very beautiful plates of grape clusters, with the faithful representation of many varieties.
