Biography:
Alexandre François Bonnardel was a French painter born in Pajay in the Isère region on 6 September 1867 and died in Lyon on 21 December 1942.
Alexandre François Bonnardel was admitted to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Lyon on 23 February 1891 in the class of Antoine Christian Zacharie (1819-1899). He became a student of Jean-Baptiste Poncet and exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, where he won his first medal in 1899.
In 1900, he was appointed professor of the live model class at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Lyon.
