Born in Arras, Demory entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1855 in the studio of Léon Cogniet.
As landscape painter and portraitist, he participated in the Salon des Artistes Français, in 1868 and 1884 in particular.
Gérald Schurr in his dictionary of 19th century painters mentions his "rather serious art which shows strength, accent and the obvious pleasure of seeing and painting"
Our Brittany spaniel or Irish setter is no exception to this principle. A familiar figure of the painter that we find in some of his Breton interiors
