Circle Of Pierre Mignard 1612-1695 – Adoration Of The Shepherds – .oil On Canvas

Adoration of the Shepherds dating from the 17th century, on which we see the Virgin Mary, in the center of the painting, with the baby Jesus. On the face of the Virgin, we note a gentle and maternal expression, facing her baby lying in a sheet, on the manger. To the right of the Virgin stands a richly dressed man, smiling. His clothes contrast with those of the shepherds that we see at the bottom left and at the top of the composition. They are elderly men, dressed simply. At the top left, we see the ox and the donkey watching over the child. On the back of the frame is written Pierre Mignard. The work is in good condition, it has been cleaned and restored. It is an oil on canvas, which was later mounted on a wooden panel.
It is offered in a magnificent and large 18th century frame, in richly decorated carved wood, in very good condition. A 19th century or 20th century red velvet rabbet further enhances the work.
