The work measures 16cm x 10cm On the reverse is an inscription by the artist:,famous Spanish artist ANGEL Ponce de Leon lived in Spain until 1948. He attended the School of Fine Arts in Madrid. He then traveled a lot in South America (Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Quito). In 1951, he lived in Cagnes-sur-Mer, in the south of France, and spent a lot of time in Nice, Menton, Toulouse and Paris. He then worked with Jean Cocteau in Cap-Ferrat and Marbella and with Braque in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. In the early 1960s, the artist moved to the United States for a time, in 1963 he exhibited alongside Tapies, Sam Francis, Viera da Silva and traveled to Cincinnati, Dallas and Washington. After 1962, strongly influenced by the French artist Auguste Herbin, he turned to geometric abstraction. The work of this very talented artist is quite underestimated on the current market.
