The vases of the so-called "krater" shape are vases inspired by Greek antiquity; they were originally used for wine.
These vases are also objects that can be described as belonging to the objects of the "Grand Tour": from the end of the 17th century, young men from good families left for this initiatory journey, initially in Italy and Greece, to discover the cultural and artistic origins that founded our civilization. From these trips, they brought back "souvenirs", objects inspired by ancient Greece or Italy.
