Founded by François-Simon-Alphonse Giroux in 1799, this company focused on the production of woodworking items in 1834 under the name “Alphonse Giroux.” During the Restoration, it began receiving orders for gifts from Kings Louis-Philippe and Charles X for the “Children of France.” Alphonse-Gustave and André Giroux, the founder’s sons, took over the management of the brand in 1838, which then became known as “Alphonse Giroux et Cie,” until it was acquired by Duvinage in 1867.
