Wrought Iron Nutcracker, 18th Century, Cage Model, Fine Metalwork

Beautiful object, rare and perhaps unique, a cage nutcracker, from forged iron, with 11 inclined bars, convex base plain ending in a turned cul-de-lamp, operculum cut for loading the hazelnut with finger, convex hemmed top, small-pitch steel screw, to allow gentle extraction of shell, ending, like a key, with a ring saw openworked with 4 inverted Cs.
Beautiful locksmith work, late 18th or early 19th century. France or England.
Dimensions = Overall: 10cm x 2.8cm. A rare example, which you surely do not have in your collection.
Good general condition, wear from use, small stains or traces of superficial corrosion…
