Ernesto Fontana Tra i Due Litiganti Il Terzo Gode 1893, oil painting on canvas depicting the famous Italian proverb Between Two Litigans The Third Enjoys, three children happily playing and rolling around among pink flowers, signed top right by the Milanese artist E.Fontana, Milan 1837 – Cureglia, Switzerland 1918, whereas on the lower left edge it is signed again, dated with dedication to his friend Prof. Lorenzani ?
The work is in excellent condition within a carved wooden frame gilded in fine gold. On the lower edge of the frame, there is a brass plate with the author of the work and only the date of birth, the painter died in 1918.
The canvas measures 30 x 24 cm and comes from a private collection in Milan. On the back of the frame is an inscription with title, author and dedication to his friend.
