Thailand, Rattanakosin Kingdom (1782-1932), early 19th century. Large bronze statue of the Buddha seated in maravijaya on a double row of lotus throne with pearled edge, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra, dressed in a diaphanous sanghati with incised hems, the meditative expression finely rendered by his eyes inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
