Late Louis XIII or early Louis XIV period
Very curious, funny and refined tripod embossed and chiseled brass whisky QUAICH, used to discover the tasty alccol, with 2 wooden turned handles on each side. We take the whiskey "taste-wine" by its 2 handel to rotate it on itself and aerate it to bring out the delicious aromas.
In the shape of MEDIEVAL BEAMS, there are 2 open dragons' mouths that swallow the handles
The QUAICH stand on 3 powerful claw feet borrowing from the antique or Roman register
These specific table utensils, obviously of Anglo-Saxon origin, are indeed relatively rare. and in general much simpler in design.
Size:
35,5cm length * 13cm depth and 6,5cm height
Very elegant decorative tableware piece, which one would imagine perfectly on a castle kitchen, with a beautiful Renaissance candle holder, antique brass and old glassware, Louis XIII forks and antique knives, folk art ceramics or glazed earthenware...
