Old & large patinated bronze group from the second half of the 19th century; Orientalist subject representing a motherhood. The young woman looks at her sleeping child with love. Group titled "Maternal tenderness" and made by the Belgian artist Jan Jozef Jaquet (1822-1898). Very beautiful medal patina. Stamp of the Parisian founder Courp. Orientalist composition inspired by a pieta. Beautiful quality of chiseling, notably in the rendering of the madras and the rope. 41cm high, 36cm wide Very good condition
