A Rare Pair Of 17th Century Celadon Kakiemon Miniature Dishes
A rare pair of miniature celadon ground Kakiemon dishes. Each of foliate form and decorated on a celadon ground with a Shishi above a spray of peonies. Japan C1680-1700. Diameter; 2 3/4" (7.0 cm).
Condition; both perfect.
Provenance; from a private English collection, Sussex.
Formerly in the collection of Louise Hawley Stone (1904-1970). Former volunteer, donor, fundraiser, board member and committee chair of the Royal Ontario Museum. Who donated to the museum over a fifty-year period approximately 1,000 objects including Japanese textiles and Chinese imperial court costumes.
