Rare and beautiful watercolor dated August 1862, representing a view of the villa of the painter Franz-Xaver Winterhalter (Menzenschwand 1805 - Frankfurt 1873) in Baden-Baden (Germany) during the Second Empire. Beautiful German or Austrian frame. Located very close to the French border, Baden-Baden was a very fashionable spa town during the Second Empire. Of German origin, the painter Winterhalter acquired a villa there where he would accommodate his friends passing through in the 1860s. Dimensions: 26.3 x 16.8 cm
