Inkwell in the neo-Gothic troubadour style, Restoration period. Small desk inkwell in gilded bronze and patinated bronze, dating from the first half of the 19th century, Restoration period, this delightful little object follows the artistic movement called "troubadour" which emerged in France at the beginning of the 19th century, represented here with the helmet, glove and knight's sword which sits on top. It is also Gothic architecture which is put in the spotlight, following the fashion for neo-Gothic which ran through the 19th century also called the "cathedral" style, we thus find on the different sides of the inkwell ogive arches with rosette and fleuron decorations. This beautiful object benefits from a double patina which brings out the decorations well, The top formed by the roof can be removed to reveal the writing utensils, with porcelain inkwell and brass powder compact, a small pen rest is missing.
