"Middle East 19th Century : "decorated Cane""
Middle East 19th century: "Decorated cane", wood (rosewood?) decorated with alternating spiral patterns by metal studding (silver?) separating alternating and offset pointed baldrics also fixed by studding, 91.5 cm. Two niello threads partially detached from the pommel, a few rare missing nails, missing ground tape, "in its own juice" with oxidation of the metal parts, to be cleaned. Probably Persian, the extraordinary fineness of the studding (of the order of a millimeter), indicates a high-ranking recipient, but above all an outstanding craftsman.
