The domed body is distinguished by refined work of twisted ribs, enhanced with finely chiseled floral garlands in relief.
On one side, a small crowned coat of arms is engraved, while the other side features a monogram "MO", probably added at a later time.
Two side handles, formed of double opposing leafy volutes, fit perfectly into the naturalistic design of the object.
Similar motifs, with flowery garlands, adorn the lid, the grip of which is represented by three strawberries placed in the center of a leafy terrace.
The sugar bowl bears the hallmarks of the city of Aix-en-Provence for the year 1772, as well as that of the master goldsmith Honoré Burel (received in 1743).
